Figure Review Friday - The Monitor
November 23rd, 2007
Today’s Figure Review Friday is for The Monitor. In many ways The Monitor is the DC equivalent to The Watchers. They monitor the many alternate realities in the DC universe trying to keep them totally seperate and free of the influence of others, so unlike the Watchers they don’t just watch they…monitor. And correct issues I guess.
The Monitor is a Crisis on Infinite Earths Series I Figure that was released sometime lat year I believe. It can still be gotten here on Amazon.com and probably numerous other sites on the internet. But now to the review.
What can The Monitor do? Well, a little more then The Watcher a little less in some places. The Monitor does bend at the legs. That is a good thing. He has one of those weird non ball jointed legs they like to put on their figures. Where they can pretty much rotate anyway but its due to a weird leg bracket. But it is a good thing as he stands fairly well on his own, although still isn’t much for dramatic poses below the waist.
I‘m not sure what else to say about The Monitor which hasn’t been said about The Watcher. They both have more then your old school Batman’s articulation. The arms are articulated to move around in the shoulder socket, the hands rotate at the wrist, but to be honest neither figure is very amazing on the wow factor. The paint is good if a little dull from some of the bright colors the monitor has and being that most of his costume I believe was supposed to look like a metal of a sort.
The Monitor is an ok figure. Nothing bad, but nothing special. If you liked the first Crisis a lot, grab it, as its a neat desk jockey, but for ultra pose ability, you may want to pass by cause your not getting it in this line.
That’s all folks!
